ENTERTAINMENT - Apparently Hollywood is making a new Robin Hood movie, and it is starring - of all people - a fat Australian by the name of Russell Crowe.
Um, hello Hollywood? Is anyone with a working brain still in there?
Russell Crowe is a HORRID actor and doesn't even suit the role.
Also Russell Crowe is too chubby to play Robin Hood and I'm not the only person who thinks so. As part of his contract Russell Crowe was told he had to lose 50 pounds for the role.
But he hasn't. In fact apparently he's GAINED weight (20 lbs) and is now refusing to lose the 70 lbs required for the role.
And to make matters worse Crowe has reportedly demanded massive script rewrites and has been described as "increasingly difficult" by staff.
The filmmakers, including director Sir Ridley Scott, also announced today that they were dropping supermodel Sienna Miller from the film for being "too thin". She was to play Maid Marian.
The producers are even thinking about dumping Ridley Scott as the director because he has given Russell Crowe too many concessions.
Our advice? DUMP RUSSELL CROWE TOO! Get a serious actor like Daniel Craig or maybe even Orlando Bloom.
Unless the movie is about the fat old Robin Hood, lying on his deathbed then Russell Crowe is totally unsuitable for the film. (Right: Robin Hood on his deathbed taking his final shot out the window, which according to the story the arrow never lands and keeps going forever.)
If Crowe is left as the actor we are officially boycotting it as a piece of crap and Sir Ridley Scott should be embarrassed to have his name on it.

You know, when people like you post a blog like this, full of inaccuracies, false information and just plain lazy-assed couldn't be bothered to research anything crapola, I have to wonder, what the hell happened to you that you get your kicks outta posting such negative drivel?
ReplyDeleteWanna get the truth?
Here ya go, sparky:
1) Russell was asked by Ridley Scott to gain weight for Body of Lies. He did.
2) Russell is now in training for Nottingham, losing that weight daily. Here are two pictures of him from only NINE DAYS AGO. (Not your almost a year old photo taken in February 2008 during the filming of State of Play.)

3) Your information about "refusing to lose weight", "demanding massive script rewrites" and "described as 'increasingly difficult' by staff" are taken from completely UNFOUNDED tabcrap based on nothing but "journalists" imaginations because it was a slow news day in the entertainment world.
4) Russell Crowe is a consummate professional and not a single director will ever be heard saying anything less. Whenever someone is "quoted" as saying he's difficult isn't it funny how it's always a "source" and there's never an actual PERSON behind the statement. That crap comes from people like you, dishonourable and lazy bloggers who have nothing better to do than write hateful and unsubstantiated bullshit because mentioning Russell's name gets you guaranteed hits on your blog.
Gee, I wonder why.
Get your facts straight or present your information for what it is, unsupported RUMOUR that NO ONE will come forward, even privately, to confirm. And why? Because no one actually said it.
Try being deserving of being a blogger instead of rehashing the same lies as the tabshits who dare call what they're doing, "reporting". It ain't. It's pure, mindless drivel.
And that's being kind.
Both this blog post and the heated reply to it seem a little irresponsible and fanatical. The truth is probably somewhere in between. I have no doubt that Mr. Crowe can be difficult at times, but it's safe to say that he and Sir Ridley know how to play nice together, given the several films they've made together in recent years.
ReplyDeleteRussell Crowe is a fine actor. Not a bulletproof one as 7dlh7 suggests, but nonetheless very talented, and a more "real" actor than this blogger gives him credit for being. That being said, he is a little unusual for the role of Robin Hood. Originally he was slated to play the Sheriff of Nottingham, and the film was to be called "Nottingham," and be sympathetic to the sheriff tracking down a notorious outlaw (Robin Hood). Crowe would have been a brilliant sheriff of Nottingham, but the focus of the film has shifted back to Robin Hood, and Crowe is Scott's star, so... there you have it. (Christian Bale might have made an interesting Robin Hood; I don't know if I'm prepared to call Orlando Bloom a "serious actor" yet.)
What remains to be seen is whether Crowe's unusual qualifications for the role of Robin Hood suit a unique take on the legend from Ridley Scott. It's likely that Scott is pulling away from the polished dandy in green leggings of past representations, and hoping to present a more realistic Robin Hood. Crowe's sturdier physique might be just the thing for the role.
Russell Crowe fans and Robin Hood fans alike will just have to wait and see. I'm hoping for the best!
