
The U.S. Coast Guard describes the oil slick as approx. 100 feet wide. Mariner has sent three firefighting ships to the site and there is already 1 ship onsite fighting the blaze.
No one was killed in the explosion. A commerical helicopter spotted the explosion Thursday morning and 13 crew were found in the water wearing survival gear known as "Gumby Suits".
Hopefully this rig isn't in deep water and can easily be capped and isn't going to cause damage to the extent the Deepwater Horizon BP rig has.
