ENVIRONMENT - Another earthquake has hit Japana's northeast, the most powerful aftershock since the 9.0 earthquake hit a month ago today. The new earthquake was magnitude-7.0 according to Japanese authorities (US sources claim it was 6.6). The epicentre of was inland and about 160 kilometres north of Tokyo, about halfway between Fukushima and Tokyo.
No reports of injuries from the aftershock has been made, the biggest of the aftershocks in recent weeks.
In Japan people gathered for ceremonies at 2:46 p.m., the exact moment the massive quake hit a month earlier. Earlier in the day 4 Buddhist monks in the city of Natori, one of the hardest hit, rang a prayer bell there as they chanted for the 25,000+ people killed by the tsunami.
