TECHNOLOGY - Looking at your own website statistics is a bit like Googling your name to see what comes up.
In the case of Lilith News we've learned something of interest...
Historically less than 5% of visitors to Lilith News have visited our site using a wireless device (SmartPhone, tablet, etc).
However in the last month we've seen a spike in SmartPhone / tablet visitors. Its now up to 8%.
And to be clear, we're not getting "Ma and Pa visitors" either. We're getting approx. 1,300 hits per day (although we have over 1,100 posts so that is really not that surprising).
Just a hunch, but we think a chunk of the people visiting via wireless devices are going to our post titled "Funny Sex Cartoon" which has received 8,600 hits in the last month. That is 287 people per day (12 people per hour) just for that cartoon.
And is it really that funny?
Maybe. You decide.
But whatever, time will tell if this is just a mobile visitors blip... or maybe because its summer people just like to use mobile gadgets more often when the weather is nice outside. We shall see...
NOTE:
To give proper credit to the maker of the cartoon (XKCD) we must admit we didn't know who the maker was when we originally posted it. Kudos to XKCD! You guys rock! (We shall be updating the older post to give credit where credit is due.)
