CARS - Volkswagen is recalling 37,000 vehicles in Canada due to leaky windshield wiper fuel that can cause fires. The recall affects 2007 to 2009 models: Golf, Jetta, Jetta Sportwagen, Rabbit + 2006 to 2010 Beetle and Beetle convertibles.
The plastic tab on the bottom of the windshield wiper fluid tank chafes against a fuel line, causing a hole which can lead to fires. According to the company there hasn't been any fires yet.
Volkswagen says anyone could simply snip off the part that chafes.
