ENVIRONMENT - Soon to be out of work fishermen in Louisiana were tricked into signing a contract with British Petroleum, offering them work during the cleanup effort of the BP oil spill, but included several clauses in the small print which released BP from all liability for damages caused by the oil spill and stated fishermen were not allowed to talk to lawyers or the media about what they saw during the cleanup process.
Those clauses raised red flags when the fishermen realized they had been duped and the clauses have now been nullified by a Louisiana judge.
This action was nothing short of trickery on the part of British Petroleum lawyers trying to cover BP's ass in future liability lawsuits which are already estimated to be worth tens of billions of dollars due to the damages caused to the local wildlife and the fishing industry.
