Mississauga employees tortured and hazed

CANADA - Workers in Mississauga's transportation and works department were routinely (2 to 4 times per week) tied up with duct tape, spanked, tortured and humiliated at the command of their supervisor.

Oddly enough they allowed it to be videotaped, thus providing evidence in what has now become a criminal investigation into employee mistreatment. The supervisor involved who started the physical and mental humiliation is still employed by the city and so far has only been subject to "significant discipline".

That's it? Significant discipline? Why hasn't he been outright fired and arrested for assault on employees?

The supervisor was not the only one involved. According to Mississauga's city officials there was a conspiracy of secrecy surrounding the torture and hazing of fellow employees, with intimidation and threats to keep employees in line.

The investigation began when an employee brought a cellphone video to the department's human resources managers showing two employees being duct-taped together and tortured.

Investigators into the incident also say there were other illegal things going on in the transportation and works department, but declined to comment on what they were. It could be drug or alcohol abuse, sexual abuse or other forms of harassment. Investigators won't say.
