Canadian Leaders speak out

CANADA - Tonight Canadian leaders Stephane Dion and Stephen Harper spoke out regarding the proposed Coalition for Canada.

Harper's address to the nation revealed nothing new, and was actually rather boring to watch. He continued to spout the idea that the Coalition is undemocratic, which is untrue because the Coalition has the majority of Canadian voters. In fact historically Harper has tried to stifle democracy in Canada.

In Stephane Dion's address to the nation he stressed the importance of the economy, that the Liberals have a plan to fix the economy, protect Canadian jobs and create new Canadian jobs.

Stephen Harper is more worried about protecting his own job than he is in protecting the jobs of fellow Canadians.

Tomorrow Harper will try to convince the Governor General to prorogue parliament and prevent the democratic vote on December 8th in order to delay until January 2009. But Harper won't be able to pass anything in January anyway. So either he is overthrown now or later, it doesn't matter. Harper will leave kicking and screaming.

Will Governor General Michaelle Jean agree to prorogue parliament? Somehow we doubt it. Canada needs a stable Coalition government, not a minority government which just delays and delays.
